In today’s ages,
We have many pages
Written by many sages,
And plays performed on many stages,
But the only way,
We can understand ourselves today,
Is through literature written in stanzas and lines,
Ones that come in diverse kinds.
All these writings,
Though very contrary,
All tie down to one great poetry.
It comes from our lungs,
And rolls off our tongues.
Straight from the heart,
And out the pen to the paper,
It relieves our souls,
From our head to our toes,
It’s the thing that makes smiles glow,
The way from line to line they flow.
Poetry is something we all should know.
